Two-week listing of Richard's TV appearances

Interested in joining the RBFC? Want to know where you can write Richard Burgi? Curious about what you can do to support Richard's career? This page will, we hope, provide the answers you need -- or at least point you in the right direction.

Joining the Official Richard Burgi Fan Club

Joining the RBFC is a simple and straightforward procedure:

1) Print and fill out our Registration Form (or write down the information on a sheet of paper).

2) Decide which membership fee applies to you -- if your mailing address is in the USA, the fee is $20; if your mailing address is in Canada, the fee is US$25; if your mailing address is outside of the United States (which includes HI and AK) or Canada, the fee is US$30.

3) Make out a check or Money Order -- in US Dollars -- payable to Kathleen Cole for the correct membership fee. NOTE: Please do not make your check or Money Order payable to the RBFC.

4) Place the completed Registration Form and check or Money Order in an envelope and send it to the RBFC at:

*** Visa and Mastercard users may now pay for their RBFC Memberships through PayPal *** -- Visa and Mastercard users, especially those living outside of the USA, now have the option of using their credit cards to make their Membership fee payments. (Please note -- not all countries are included in the PayPal program).

PayPal logoPayPal transactions are processed through their website at http://www.paypal.com, using wbkat852@aol.com as the RBFC payment address / account.  The process is fairly simple -- new PayPal customers must first register with PayPal, which takes about five minutes.  (Instructions are provided on the PayPal website).

Unfortunately, the added convenience is not without cost; Memberships or Renewals paid through PayPal are slightly more expensive to cover PayPal processing fees.  The Membership or Renewal rates for payment through PayPal are as follows: US - $22.00, Canada - $27.00, and International - $32.00. Remember, your payments must be made in US Dollars.

**NOTE** -- Even when PayPal is used as a payment option, we ask that you fill out and send in an RBFC Membership Registration & Renewal form. This will enable us to process your Registration or Renewal quickly and efficiently.  (Simply print out the Registration Form, fill it out, and mail it to the RBFC address printed on the form).

For further information, contact Kat through the following RBFC mail link.

Club memberships are issued and renewed on a yearly basis; your year begins when you are sent the initial membership packet. The membership packet includes an autographed 8x10 photo of Richard, an individualized membership ID card, Richard's current biography and annotated filmography and the current RBFC membership directory. Members also receive the quarterly RBFC newsletter as well as updates on guest appearances and interviews and all the latest news about Richard's current and future projects. Bonus items may also, from time to time, be included along with the newsletter.

Giving a Gift Certificate Membership

Simply print out and fill in the registration form as you would for a personal membership subscription. There is a line on the form where we ask you to specify whether this is a gift membership or not, and below which we ask for your name. Please be sure to fill in these spaces so that we may properly process your application and complete the Gift Certificate.

All other details are the same as for personal memberships -- the fees, and payment options, are the same, as are the directions and mailing address.

Supporting Richard's chosen RBFC charities

Richard has given us information on two charitable organizations, both of which are in tune with his desire to support local, grass-roots organizations with an environmental emphasis.  They are the newly-renamed Pacific Marine Mammal Center, formerly called the Friends of the Sea Lion Marine Mammal Center (FSLMMC), and the Orange County Bird of Prey Center (OCBPC).

Should you wish to donate to either of these organizations, you can send your donation (by check or money order, in US dollars) payable to either "Pacific Marine Mammal Center" or "The Orange County Bird of Prey Center," with the words "in honor of Richard Burgi" written on the memo line.

If you would like your donation to be counted in the RBFC's donation tally, you may send it to the RBFC mailing address listed below; otherwise, you may mail it directly to either the PMMC or OCBPC at the addresses listed in the sections below.

The PMMC website -- http://www.pacificmmc.org/ -- says this of the organization's mission:

"The Pacific Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit organization staffed by dedicated volunteers and funded by donations. Its mission is to:

  • rescue, medically treat and rehabilitate seals and sea lions that are stranded along Orange County, California beaches due to injury or illness;
  • release healthy animals back to their natural habitat; and
  • increase public awareness of the marine environment through education and research."

At present the OCBPC does not have a website; should they launch one in the future, the URL will be added to this page.

While Richard greatly appreciates the thoughtfulness and generosity of his fans, he finds gifts a bit overwhelming. He would prefer -- and would be honored -- if instead, fans make a donation in his name to the Friends of the Sea Lion Marine Mammal Center, the Orange County Bird of Prey Center, or a similar organization in their home town.

Contacting Richard Burgi

*** Write to Richard care of the RBFC! *** -- Richard has asked us to encourage anyone interested in sending cards or letters to him to use the RBFC Los Angeles mailing address, which is listed below.  This allows Richard to better handle his incoming mail, which he certainly enjoys receiving, provided it comes through appropriate channels.

Mr. Richard Burgi
The RBFC
c/o Kathleen Cole
11155 Aqua Vista St., #302
Studio City, CA 91602-3700
USA

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be sent to Richard's home address!  Receiving fan mail through his home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially from the standpoint of privacy and safety.  If you have come across what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it!  We -- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us know where you came across the address by using this e-mail link to the RBFC.

While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts be sent to him.  Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming.  Richard would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to a local children's shelter or literacy program, or to the two charities listed above.

Supporting Richard Burgi's Career

First and foremost, watch any TV show or movie Richard is in! Encourage family and friends to watch as well. If he's in a magazine article, buy the magazine, read the article -- and then recommend it to a friend. Most magazines are interested in reader feedback and provide email or "snail mail" addresses expressly for that purpose; write them a quick note or email and let them know you enjoyed seeing Richard mentioned in their magazine!

Richard can, of course, be seen in a vast array of movie and television roles on broadcast and cable television and DVD -- recent movies "Firestorm: Last Stand at Yellowstone," "Fun With Dick and Jane" and "In Her Shoes" are now available on pay-per-view and DVD, as are earlier films "Cellular," "Decoys," and "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation." Many of his television roles are in steady rotation on various Cable networks, such as The District on The USA Channel, Judging Amy on TNT, and 24 on A&E. Even more are available for purchase or rental on DVD.

After you've watched the show or movie, take a moment to write the producers of that show -- or the network it aired on -- to thank them for including Richard Burgi in their production. Let them know how much you enjoy his work -- especially in their production -- and look forward to seeing him again soon in their show or on their network. (You can find e-mail addresses listed in the episode descriptions on the News page).

Same thing with those magazine articles; let the editors know you enjoyed seeing Richard in their publication and look forward to seeing him again! Some Entertainment Industry magazines have "Ask Us" columns; write them and ask what Richard is doing now, or what Richard has done in the past -- or ask for information on some role he's played. (Soap Opera Digest, for instance, is especially good about keeping up with the careers of Daytime TV alumni and answering questions for fans -- and Richard has worked on a number of the most popular Daytime dramas).

Of course, dropping Richard a postcard or letter every now and then is a good idea as well -- lets him know he's reaching people with his work and also lets the folks processing incoming mail know that people are watching and interested in Richard Burgi.

Learning more about Richard and his various roles, projects, and appearances

Internet Search Engines are a handy brute-force way of learning more about Richard's roles, projects, and personal appearances. Google and Yahoo and are two of the most popular web search facilities and are fairly easy to use.
